The Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) is a Public Business Entity, answering to the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, which fosters the technological development and innovation of Spanish companies.  The CDTI thus seeks to contribute to improving the technological level of the Spanish companies by means of implementing the following activities:

• Financial and economic-technical assessment of R&D&i projects implemented by companies.
• Managing and fostering Spanish participation in international technological cooperation programmes (H2020, Eureka, Iberoeka, Bilaterals -currently Japan, China, India, Corea y South Africa-, plus Unilateral Program).
• Fostering international business technology transfer and support services for technological innovation.
• Supporting the setting up and consolidating technological companies.

Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) is a quasi-government institute under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). It was founded in 2009, employs about 300 people in three departments, six divisions and one center, and manages a yearly budget of USD1.3 billion (2016). KIAT has established presence in the USA and Europe via its offices in Washington D.C. and Brussels.Our key functions include: industrial technology strategy and formulating related policy formulation; industry-academia cooperation system strengthening, technology commercialization support; international R&D cooperation promotion; small and medium sized companies nurturing; local industry promotion, materials and components industry fostering. Among others, KIAT is in charge of Korea’s participation in the EUREKA initiative and its programs, through which multilateral R&D collaboration is being supported. On a bilateral level, KIAT has co-funded R&D programs with 10 countries and are committed to further increasing the number of international partners in line with the importance international industrial technology collaboration has on the national strategic objectives for development and growth.

ANI, the Portuguese National Innovation Agency has the mission to promote knowledge transfer through collaboration and cooperation between enterprises and research and knowledge production entities. The ANI mandate is to promote innovation through research funding.

ANI vision is to create an INNOVATION HUB that embodies the growing alignment of the R&D, Innovation and technology-based entrepreneurship policies in the areas of science and economy, with the main goal to promote knowledge transfer, in particular through more and better cooperation and coordination between companies and the R&I institutions. As part of a new repositioning, ANI pursues a wide range of activities:

• Enhances collaborative innovation;
• Leverages knowledge transfer to companies
• Increases the participation of the National S&T System and of national companies in the Research & Innovation international networks
• Strengthens business investment in R&I
• Fosters a social environment which favours technological entrepreneurship

The Research Council of Norway serves as the chief advisory body for the government authorities on research policy issues, and distributes roughly NOK nine billion to research and innovation activities each year. The Research Council works to promote international cooperation and increase participation in the EU framework programme on research and innovation. The Research Council creates meeting places and provides a platform for dialogue between researchers, users of research and research funders.

The ministry is by its domain of work a successor of the former Ministry of economy and the Ministry of higher education, science and technoloy. It was established in its current form in 2012. The domain of work of the Ministry of economic development and technology is in the field of economic system and development, internal market, technical legislation and criterion, consumer protection, competition protection, intellectual property rights, small industry, development of the entrepreneurship sector and competitiveness, duties in the field of regional development and European cohesion policy and tasks in the field of technology, metrology and post. The vision of the ministry is to support further strengthening of international competitiveness of Slovenian companies and the offensive changing of the structure of the Slovenian economy in a form which is fully adapted to the demand of the global economy.

The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) is the federal government's specialised State Secretariat for national and international matters concerning education, research and innovation (ERI) policy. Among SERI’s remits are:

Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation, provides innovation funding for companies, research organisations, and public sector service providers. Tekes is the most important publicly funded expert organisation for financing research, development and innovation in Finland. Tekes promotes a broad-based view on innovation: besides funding technological breakthroughs, Tekes emphasises the significance of service-related, design, business, and social innovations.

Tekes works with the top innovative companies and research units in Finland. Every year, Tekes finances some 1,500 business research and development projects, and almost 600 public research projects at universities, research institutes and universities of applied sciences. Research, development and innovation funding is targeted to projects that create in the long-term the greatest benefits for the economy and society. Tekes does not derive any financial profit from its activities, nor claim any intellectual proprietary rights.

Vinnova promotes sustainable growth by funding needs-driven research and stimulating collaborations between companies, universities, research institutes and the public sector. Vinnova is also the national contact agency for the EU framework programme for research and innovation.

Vinnova programmes and calls target actors in society who are important for Sweden’s innovativeness such as research-focused companies, universities, research institutes and public sector organisations. Some of its calls are open to international and bilateral collaborations.
